Massage Therapy FAQs

Will my insurance cover the cost?

In most cases, yes. Check with your insurance company to confirm your coverage.

Do I need a referral?

If you want your insurance to cover your massage, they’ll most likely require a referral from a healthcare provider such as your surgeon, physician assistant, or primary care provider. Note that a referral does not guarantee that your insurance will cover massage therapy; you need ton confirm with your insurance company.

How much does a massage cost?

If you plan to pay directly (without using insurance), we offer competitive rates – and you can take advantage of our punch card program:

30-minute massage: $45
60-minute massage: $90
Punch Card*: Pay for 300 minutes of massage, get 60 minutes free.

*Punch cards do not apply to massages billed to insurance.

Will it affect my surgery?

Yes, positively. Massage has proven to speed the recovery process and support excellent surgical outcomes. OPA massage therapists are very familiar with the post-surgery recovery process for many types of orthopedic procedures. They also have access to your patient record and will regularly communicate with OPA surgeons and physical therapists to ensure they take the safest, most effective approach to your therapy.

Is it private?

Yes. You’ll be in a private room and your massage therapist will discuss your expectations, plan of care, and any concerns you may have before the massage begins.

Can I schedule a massage just for overall well-being?

Yes!
