About

Zachary (“Zac”) Johnson, PA-C, holds a master’s degree in physician assistant studies and a bachelor’s in kinesiology. He works directly with patients to evaluate, diagnose and treat hip and knee patients – all in close collaboration with joint replacement surgeon Bryan Haughom, MD. Johnson is also a skilled surgical first assist and helps patients achieve their treatment goals before, during and after surgery.

Born and raised in Alaska, Johnson went south to Santa Barbara, California to attend Westmont College.  He developed an interest in medicine while working in the school’s sports medicine department as the team trainer for the women’s soccer team and graduated with a degree in kinesiology.

He went on to PA school at George Washington University in Washington D.C. and trained in a wide variety of fields. After graduation, Johnson began his practice in pediatrics, helping young surgical patients prepare for and recover from surgery.

Johnson eventually transitioned into orthopedics, moved back to Alaska and today helps orthopedic patients of all ages. When not working, he’s likely chasing his four kids around and working out. He also enjoys hunting.

Zach was extremely professional, knowledgeable (as much as I could tell) and not in a rush (patiently answered all my questions, and waited while I formed them). He made a point to tell me all the things that were definitely NOT wrong with my knee, which I greatly appreciated.
