Cassidy Soistman, MS, ATC
Cassidy Soistman, MS, ATC is a lifelong Alaskan, an athlete, and someone who is passionate about helping other people. Soistman grew up in Homer and was always into sports – and helping people. After studying at the University of Alaska Anchorage, she discovered a way to stay in sports and give back to the community at the same time.
She graduated Cum Laude from UAA with a degree in physical education & recreation with a minor in athletic training. Along the way, she assisted with athletic training duties for the Seawolf hockey team.
The experience inspired to learn more. And do more. So she went to Pacific University in Hillsboro Oregon and earned a master’s degree in athletic training. There she put her skills to work for Pacific University’s football, men’s soccer, volleyball and women’s basketball teams. She also helped the Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club, the Portland Timbers Academy (U14-19 soccer) and a variety of other organizations and school teams – including 5A high school baseball, softball and track & field and Division I soccer & cross-country running teams. She also was part of the medical team for Alaska’s famous Mayor’s Marathon, the Special Olympics and the Portland Timbers 2 (“T2”) soccer team.
Today Soistman is a vital member of the OPA athletic training team and is thrilled to be back in Alaska. When not out serving the community, she’s likely out enjoying it – on the hiking or cross-country ski trails and enjoying time with her dog, Tank.
