Alicia Hanta, OTR, CHT
Alicia Smith Hanta, OTR, CHT, has been helping patients rehab – and get the most out of life – for nearly 30 years.
Armed with a degree in occupational therapy from Temple University, she launched her career at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. There she did four six-month rotations in different therapeutic fields before moving to the spinal cord injury unit at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, also in Philadelphia. Then Hawaii called. She worked in various positions in Honolulu and developed a talent for hand, wrist, arm and elbow therapy. A series of travel assignments led her to find a home in Alaska, where she became a certified hand therapist (CHT).
Today Ms. Hanta is a member of the OPA therapy team in Wasilla. She uses her depth of knowledge in a wide variety of therapeutic fields, together with her hand and upper extremity expertise, to help each patient with their unique goals and challenges.
In her free time, Ms. Hanta enjoys spending time with her daughters, hiking Alaska's trails, cross-country skiing, hula dancing, yoga and horseback riding.
